At OMA we believe that encouraging the arts and helping develop culture contribute to moments of relaxation that feed the spirit. That is why at our airports you can find different expositions, such as sculpture, paintings, photography, etc.

"Aviation Pioneers Chihuahua"

The Chihuahua Airport was named after General Roberto Fierro Villalobos, the legendary pilot who made his way in mexican aviation in turbulent times. His dedication to aviation and his country led him to the military and also to develop important aeronautical projects. Among other pioneers represantative of Mountain Aviation that worked at this airport, we can mention Leopoldo López Talamantes, Desiderio Varela Lazo y Alberto Ruiz de la Peña who  contributed mentoring pilots, designing airstrips, creating routes and airservices in the state. These veterans, veritable institutions at the Chihuaha Airport, dedicated their life to ennoble aviation inspiring and leading many others who worked developing aeronautics in México.

The state of Chihuahua has been home to great personalities that founded and stimulated Mexican Aviation. With this exposition, OMA pays homage to General Roberto Fierro Villalobos (1897-1935), and the pioneers that collaborated with the establishment of the Chihuahua Airport.
