OMA's 13 airports have been certified for environmental compliance based on the measures we've taken to improve the quality of water, air, soil, and subsoil; the handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste; energy use; and our training programs.

The annual environmental re-certification and action plan for each airport ensures continuity of initiatives and continuous improvement.

OMA will continue to establish an harmonious balance with the environment, in the different circumstances in which we operate, based on a strong environmental culture.

Environmental Compliance Certification
The Environmental Compliance Certification awarded by PROFEPA (the Federal Environmental Protection Agency) has the following components:

  • Water
Actions focused on reducing water consumption through the implementation of systems and savings measures; waste water treatment plants, and training.

  • Energy
Actions focused on reducing electrical energy use in all airports and facilities.

  • Hazardous waste
Appropriate management and final disposal of hazardous waste, using authorized companies, and in accordance with applicable environmental legislation.

  • Non-hazardous waste
We contract with authorized companies for the disposal of non-hazardous waste in approved sites, and avoid the creation of contaminated sites.

  • Implementation of an Environmental Management System
Our system considers the key elements for compliance and environmental continuity.
